There are several types of underpinning. Skirting can be constructed from steel, wood, masonry , stone or vinyl. 

Underpinning helps insulate your home from hot and cold weather. It protects the underside of your home and enhances the appearance of your home.

Underpinning must have an access door, proper ventilation and drainage.  Venting allows the release of moisture preventing humidity from rising inside your home.
